Hims & Hers Health announced an expansion of its weight loss offerings, allowing licensed providers on its platform to prescribe a compounded semaglutide pill. The oral medication contains the same active ingredient as Wegovy and is positioned as an alternative to injectable GLP-1 treatments.
According to the company, the compounded pill is formulated to protect the active ingredient during digestion and support absorption. The option is intended for patients who prefer not to use injections or who may require alternative delivery methods as determined by a healthcare provider. The pill joins a broader range of weight loss treatments available through the platform, including branded, generic, and compounded medications.
Hims & Hers stated that eligible patients may access treatment plans that include the compounded semaglutide pill beginning this month, with introductory pricing starting at $49 for the first month, subject to clinical eligibility and provider approval.
All prescriptions on the platform are issued by licensed healthcare providers following a clinical evaluation. The company emphasized that treatment selection and dosing decisions are made based on individual patient needs and provider judgment.
The platform also provides access to ongoing care support and educational resources related to nutrition, mental health, and physical wellness. In 2025, Hims & Hers expanded its operational footprint to more than one million square feet, integrating pharmacy operations, laboratory testing, and research and development capabilities to support care delivery at scale.
Hims & Hers stated that its compounding practices comply with applicable federal and state regulations and that active pharmaceutical ingredients used in compounded medications are sourced from FDA-registered facilities. As with all compounded medications, these treatments are not FDA-approved products and are prescribed at the discretion of licensed providers.
