CityPickle has announced plans to open its new headquarters and first year-round location in Manhattan. The flagship site will be located on the 8th floor of 1501 Broadway, also known as the Paramount Building, in the heart of Times Square. The opening is scheduled for fall 2025.
The new 37,000-square-foot facility will include seven pickleball courts, a full bar and restaurant, a lounge and event space, showers, and other amenities. The site will also house CityPickle’s corporate office.
“There’s no better place to plant our flag than Times Square, the epicenter of culture and entertainment,” said Mary Cannon, Co-Founder of CityPickle. “When selecting the location for our flagship, accessibility was key. Being near so many subway lines allows us to welcome players from all over the city while also catering to professionals working nearby, giving them a fun and active way to connect before or after work – or even on their lunch break.”
CityPickle has become a visible presence in New York City since launching in 2023 as the official seasonal partner at Wollman Rink in Central Park. The company opened New York’s first dedicated pickleball club in Long Island City and has hosted activations at Union Square, Hudson Yards, Brooklyn’s Atlantic Terminal, and other prominent sites. CityPickle Brooklyn Bridge is scheduled to open in spring 2026.
“With more than 2,000 corporate events already under its belt, CityPickle’s new central location sets the stage for the brand’s next phase of exponential growth,” said Co-Founder Erica Desai. “As we gear up to open doors to our newest location in Times Square, we look forward to continuing to emphasize the importance of building communities through the accessible nature of the sport combined with hospitality.”
The Times Square lease was secured by Avison Young’s Martin Cottingham, Michael Gottlieb, Patrick Steffens, and Alexis Odgers. Built in the 1920s as the original headquarters of Paramount Pictures, the 885,000-square-foot commercial tower is a designated New York City landmark.
“A space like this, with high ceilings and column free areas for playing space, is a truly rare find in Manhattan, let alone at the ‘Crossroads of the World,’” said Martin Cottingham, Principal at Avison Young. “The visibility and accessibility of this historic building in the heart of Times Square is unmatched, making it the perfect place for CityPickle’s Manhattan flagship.”
Architecture firm Sentient Design Works is overseeing the redesign of the space, which formerly housed the Paramount Theatre.
Pickleball remains the fastest-growing sport in the United States, with appeal across age groups and skill levels. CityPickle plans to continue expanding access to the sport through local partnerships and community-based programming.
