CR Fitness Holdings, the largest franchisee of Crunch Fitness, will hold its annual 9/11 Stair Climb on Thursday, September 11, to honor first responders and commemorate the 24th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

The event is open to members, non-members, and first responders. Participants climb 110 flights of stairs, equal to 2,071 steps, symbolizing the height of the World Trade Center towers. At the end of the climb, participants are invited to sign their names and record their contributions.

“September 11th is a day our nation will never forget,” said Tony Scrimale, CEO of CR Fitness Holdings. “Through our annual 9/11 Stair Climb, we come together as a Crunch community to pay tribute to the bravery and enduring commitment of all first responders.”

In the days leading up to the event, Crunch staff plan to visit local fire stations to deliver refreshments and tokens of appreciation. First responders are invited to participate in the Stair Climb at any of CR Fitness’s 86 gyms located in Florida, Texas, Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee.

CR Fitness Holdings is led by Vince Julien, Geoff Dyer, Tony Scrimale, and Jeff Dotson. The company currently operates 86 locations and has announced plans to expand into Arizona.

As the United States observes the 24th remembrance anniversary of September 11, the Stair Climb stands as a gesture of recognition for both the first responders who served in 2001 and those who continue to serve today.
