Crunch Fitness has reached 600 locations worldwide, marking a new milestone for the fitness franchise as it continues to expand its high-value, low-price gym model across domestic and international markets.

The company, which began as a single gym in New York City's Greenwich Village, now serves more than 4.5 million members globally. The milestone was marked by the opening of Crunch Arcadia in the Phoenix metropolitan area, operated by Southwest Fitness Holdings LLC, a subsidiary of franchisee CR Fitness Holdings.

The opening also represents the 100th Crunch Fitness location for CR Fitness Holdings, one of the company's franchise partners.

Crunch reports that its annual gym openings have increased by nearly 200% over the past four years, reflecting an acceleration in franchise development and the expansion of its club network.

"The six hundred club mark is an incredible milestone for Crunch," said Chequan Lewis, CEO of Crunch Fitness. "We're incredibly proud of how far Crunch has come, but what makes 600 especially exciting is that it's also CR Fitness' 100th Crunch gym."

Lewis also credited the company's franchise partners with supporting its expansion and delivering the brand's fitness offerings across a growing number of markets.

The company is continuing to introduce its Crunch 3.0 and Crunch Select club designs as part of its development strategy. The updated formats are intended to support the company's high-value, low-price positioning while adapting its facilities and member experience to different markets.

Crunch's expansion has also been reflected in recent franchise industry rankings. The company placed second in the fitness category and 20th overall in Entrepreneur's annual Franchise 500 ranking, moving up from 32nd overall the previous year. Crunch was also included in the Inc. 5000 list of America's fastest-growing companies.

The 600-location milestone comes as competition continues among large gym operators seeking to expand their footprints through franchising and value-oriented membership models.

Crunch has not disclosed a timeline for its next location milestone or the number of additional clubs currently in development.
