Easy Mile Fitness has expanded its portfolio of Planet Fitness clubs with the acquisition of 15 locations in Oregon and two in Alaska from the Bravo Fit Franchise Group. The newly acquired sites are located in Portland, Bend, Medford, and Yakima, Oregon, as well as Anchorage, Alaska.

The purchase makes Easy Mile Fitness the largest Planet Fitness operator in Oregon and marks its entry into Alaska, the fifth U.S. state in which the company operates. Following the transaction, Easy Mile Fitness now owns and manages 70 Planet Fitness clubs across seven territories, including Alaska, Florida, Georgia, Oregon, South Carolina, Puerto Rico, and Ontario, Canada.

“We are thrilled to grow our footprint in the Pacific Northwest with this acquisition,” said Philip Amato, chief operating officer for Easy Mile Fitness. “This acquisition fits with our internal goals and will help us execute our vision of continuing to be a top franchise partner and bring a high-value experience to more communities.”

Bravo Fit, founded in 2012, started with a single Planet Fitness in Salem, Oregon. “Our vision was to bring excellent and affordable fitness to Oregonians. Thirteen years later, we achieved this vision beyond our wildest dreams. We owe this success to a team that has believed in our vision, including the many team members who grew with us personally and professionally along the way,” said Tanner Halton, co-chief executive officer of Bravo Fit. Dan Afrasiabi, also co-chief executive officer, added, “We could not be prouder of our Bravo Fit team for creating a culture dedicated to delivering confidence and competence. Today, we put our Oregon and Alaska operations in the good hands of Easy Mile Fitness, so we can continue our mission with our rapidly growing Planet Fitness reach throughout Australia.”

The acquisition was financed by Fifth Third Bank, which has supported multiple Planet Fitness franchise transactions. Legal counsel for Easy Mile Fitness was provided by Downs Rachlin Martin, with tax advisory services from Baker Tilly US LLP and insurance diligence by Lockton. The sellers were advised by Intrepid Investment Bankers and represented legally by Landye Bennett Blumstein LLP.

Easy Mile Fitness will assume operations of the acquired clubs immediately.
