Escape Fitness USA Transitions to New Ownership Under Tamborninos

Curt and Tammy Tambornino have acquired Escape Fitness USA, adding the functional training equipment supplier to a portfolio that includes DYNAMIC Fitness & Strength, DYNAMIC Fabrication and Finishing, and Exerfly. The deal combines Escape’s 25-year track record in product development and commercial sales with the Tamborninos’ more than three decades of U.S.-based steel fabrication and manufacturing operations.
As part of the transaction, Escape co-founder Matthew Januszek will remain a shareholder and has been appointed President of a new operating entity, Escape HoldCo. He will continue to lead the U.S. business alongside the current team, which remains in place.
Escape Fitness was founded in 1998 and built its reputation in functional training, supplying commercial gyms, performance facilities, and training environments across global markets. The company holds multiple patents tied to its equipment design and programming concepts. The Tamborninos’ businesses, meanwhile, focus on U.S.-manufactured strength equipment and steel fabrication, with products used in scholastic athletics, collegiate programs, and professional sports settings. The family previously founded Curt Manufacturing, now one of the largest manufacturers of trailer hitches and towing accessories worldwide.
Under the new ownership structure, Escape Fitness USA is expected to increase its reliance on domestic manufacturing capabilities. The Tamborninos’ fabrication and finishing infrastructure provides additional production capacity, which could reduce lead times and expand product availability for U.S. customers. The companies also indicated plans to continue investing in product development within the functional and strength training categories.
Escape Fitness UK Limited, owned by the Januszek family, will continue to operate independently and oversee markets outside North, Central, and South America. The U.K. and U.S. entities will remain aligned on brand direction and product development, but will function as separate operating businesses.
