Global Wellness Day Returns to Champion Wellness as a Human Right

Global Wellness Day is set to return for its 14th year on Saturday, 14 June 2025, aiming to turn the spotlight on wellness as a universal right. Backed by cultural figures including Oprah Winfrey, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Venus Williams, Robbie Williams, Sir Rod Stewart, and Sir Richard Branson, GWD will unite more than 170 countries in a day of free activities and collective action.

Founded by Belgin Aksoy, an entrepreneur and wellness advocate, GWD is a not-for-profit social movement that encourages individuals, communities, and institutions to prioritise health and wellbeing through free activities. Aksoy says, "Wellness is not a luxury, but the inherent right of every individual. From small daily acts to large-scale events, Global Wellness Day breaks down barriers and makes wellbeing accessible to all. Together, we can democratise health and help humanity thrive."

GWD has expanded its global presence through 120 ambassadors and a network of supporters and volunteers. Activities are designed to be free and open to all, including nature walks, yoga sessions, beach clean-ups, digital detoxes, mindful meditation, and peace concerts.

For 2025, the theme #ReconnectMagenta encourages people to pause and reconnect in a fast-paced, digital world. The campaign is built around five pillars: reconnecting with nature, self, family and friends, community, and longevity.

"Connection is the heartbeat of life," Aksoy says. "In an increasingly fragmented, tech-saturated world, #ReconnectMagenta restores warmth and vibrancy—within ourselves, and with the world around us."

Global Wellness Day 2025 will feature activities that align with these pillars, aiming to foster a culture of wellbeing and promote accessible, inclusive health practices worldwide.
