Planet Fitness reported year-end operational results showing continued growth across membership, same club sales, and unit expansion in 2025.
As of December 31, 2025, Planet Fitness ended the year with approximately 20.8 million members. Full-year system-wide same club sales increased 6.7 percent, reflecting higher utilization across existing locations.
During the year, the company placed equipment in 152 new franchised locations and opened 181 new clubs system-wide. That total included 23 corporate-owned locations. By year-end, Planet Fitness operated 2,896 clubs globally.
Chief Executive Officer Colleen Keating said the company exceeded several growth objectives set at the beginning of the year. She pointed to franchise-led investments in additional strength equipment, expanded participation in the High School Summer Pass Program, and a revised advertising fund structure as notable developments in 2025.
According to the company, franchisees increased strength equipment offerings to address member demand and improve in-club experience. Planet Fitness also reported a record number of sign-ups for its High School Summer Pass Program, which continues to serve as a pipeline to younger consumers. In addition, the company reached an agreement with franchisees to shift a portion of Local Ad Fund contributions to the National Ad Fund beginning in 2026, a move intended to support broader marketing initiatives.
Looking ahead, Planet Fitness said it enters 2026 focused on brand positioning, member experience enhancements, and continued format optimization to support new club growth. The company noted that consumer interest in affordable fitness options remains strong as health and wellness continue to be a priority.
