Longevity researcher Dr. David Sinclair has launched Lifespan Group LLC and Lifespan.com, a new media and membership platform focused on translating aging and longevity research for a broader audience.
Sinclair, a professor of genetics at Harvard Medical School and author of Lifespan, announced the platform during an appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience. The launch coincides with Sinclair being featured in a National Geographic cover story about his longevity human clinical trial.
Lifespan will combine science journalism, educational content, video, podcasts and a membership community centered on research into aging and healthy longevity. The company says its editorial content will be produced by scientists and other contributors working in the longevity field.
The platform builds on Lifespan with Dr. David Sinclair, a podcast that reached the top position in Apple’s Health & Fitness podcast category during its first season.
"We are entering a period where discoveries in the biology of aging are moving from the laboratory into everyday life, but public understanding has not kept pace," said Dr. Sinclair. "Lifespan was created to bridge that gap by giving people direct access to the science and the scientists shaping the future of health."
A central part of the new platform is Lifespan Magazine, a publication focused on longevity research. According to the company, articles will draw on peer-reviewed research and provide context around both established findings and areas where scientific questions remain.
The publication enters a longevity market that has expanded beyond academic research into consumer health, fitness, diagnostics, supplements and other wellness services. Lifespan is positioning its editorial offering around direct participation from researchers rather than relying solely on traditional health journalism.
"Scientific discoveries rarely fit into a headline," said Kathleen Fitzgerald, Director of Partnerships at Lifespan and former Head of YouTube Programs. "People deserve to understand what the evidence shows, where it is strongest, and where important questions remain. Lifespan translates complex research into practical guidance that helps people make better decisions about healthy aging."
The company has also hired Emmy Award-winning producer, director and cinematographer Daniel Salazar III, a former NASA producer, to oversee creative work across its film, video and digital content.
Lifespan will operate partly through a membership model. Members will receive access to Lifespan Magazine and its archives, early podcast episodes, referenced show notes, conversations with longevity researchers, a book club and Ask Me Anything sessions with Sinclair.
The business also supports the Lifespan Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on funding aging and longevity research, including work by early-career scientists.
The combination of publishing, podcasts, video, community and research funding gives Lifespan a broader scope than Sinclair's previous media efforts and places the new company at the intersection of consumer longevity and scientific research.
