Toronto-based fitness brand REFORMD is expanding into the United States with a new studio in Calabasas, California, scheduled to open in January 2027. The location will feature 37 Lagree EVO PRO machines alongside a range of wellness and recovery services, in what the company describes as the world's largest Lagree studio.
Located at The Commons at Calabasas, the facility will include 35 EVO PRO machines in its main group fitness studio and two additional machines in a dedicated private training and education space. The location will also feature six treatment rooms, combining large-format boutique fitness with recovery services under one roof.
The expansion follows the opening of REFORMD's flagship Toronto studio in June 2025. Developed by Canadian fitness and wellness operator Sweat and Tonic, the original location features 31 MegaPro Megaformers and has recorded more than 126,000 guest bookings since opening, according to the company.
Sweat and Tonic, founded in 2019, reports more than 3.4 million guest bookings across its fitness and wellness offerings.
The Calabasas location represents a partnership between David Ingram, founder of Sweat and Tonic and REFORMD, and Heather Perren, a Lagree Senior Master Trainer and Director of Events at Lagree HQ. Perren will serve as the principal owner and operator of the new facility.
The expansion introduces REFORMD's large-capacity studio model to Southern California, where it will combine group fitness programming with wellness services available to both members and nonmembers.
The facility's recovery offerings will include massage therapy, Zerobody dry float experiences, electric cryotherapy, the Ammortal Chamber and compression therapy using Metrum Boa Max suits. A separate recovery lounge will provide Therabody equipment, lymphatic massage rollers and other recovery tools.
By offering recovery services independently of Lagree classes, REFORMD is positioning the location to serve customers beyond its core group fitness audience. The model also creates opportunities for additional revenue streams within the same facility, although pricing and membership structures have not been disclosed.
The main studio will incorporate an instructor stage, audiovisual technology and programmable lighting, reflecting the brand's emphasis on combining fitness instruction with a hospitality-oriented experience.
"We pushed the boundaries of what a Lagree studio could be with our flagship location in Toronto, creating one of the largest and busiest studios in the world. Expanding into California with Heather represents an exciting next chapter for the brand. We're building on the success of Toronto while introducing an even more comprehensive fitness and wellness experience to a new community," said Ingram.
The development also reflects an approach to boutique fitness that combines larger class capacities with complementary wellness services. With 35 machines dedicated to group instruction, the Calabasas facility will have the potential to accommodate more participants per class than smaller-format Lagree studios, while its recovery offerings provide additional services beyond scheduled workouts.
For boutique fitness operators, the concept illustrates how specialized training brands are exploring larger facilities and diversified service offerings rather than relying exclusively on class-based revenue.
REFORMD Calabasas is expected to open in January 2027. The company has not disclosed the project's investment cost, membership pricing or plans for additional U.S. locations.
