[solidcore] has appointed two new C-suite executives and added a member to its Board of Directors as the company continues its national expansion to more than 150 studios. The hires mark the brand’s first Chief People Officer and Chief Commercial Officer roles.

Michelle Engel will join [solidcore] as Chief People Officer on September 15. Engel has more than two decades of experience leading people and culture functions, most recently as Chief People Officer at Clarvida and CHRO at Evolent Health. Earlier in her career, she held senior HR leadership positions at AOL. “What drew me to [solidcore] was more than the workout. It is the community and culture that set it apart for me,” Engel said. “My focus will be on strengthening that culture and ensuring our people have the tools and support to deliver their best work for our communities.”

On September 23, Anne Smith will take on the newly created role of Chief Commercial Officer. Smith previously served as Vice President of Loyalty Marketing at Marriott Bonvoy and held senior brand roles at Choice Hotels International, where she led the relaunch of the Comfort brand and the launch of Clarion Pointe. “Strength has always been at the center of [solidcore], and it is what makes the brand distinctive,” Smith said. “I see significant opportunity to build on that foundation by reaching more people, deepening client loyalty, and making the brand even more relevant in their lives.”

Lucy Werner will join [solidcore]’s Board of Directors later this month. Werner is currently Senior Vice President of Global Partnerships at Marriott International and has previously served as Chief Commercial Officer at Rosewood Hotel Group. She also spent nearly seven years at Google in Hong Kong, where she helped launch Google Cloud in the region. “I have worked with companies scaling across markets and industries, and [solidcore] has the same potential to grow well beyond its current footprint,” Werner said.

CEO Bryan Myers said the new appointments reflect the company’s focus on building leadership capacity to support its growth. “[solidcore] has always drawn strength from the passion and commitment of our team,” Myers said. “With leaders like Michelle, Anne, and Lucy joining us, we are building the foundation for the next chapter of growth.”

The company is also recruiting for two additional senior roles, a Head of International to guide global market entry and a Head of New Business Ventures to develop offerings beyond the studio.

Since Myers became CEO, [solidcore] has grown from 25 studios to more than 150, employing more than 3,500 people and serving over 200,000 clients monthly. The brand hosted more than 500,000 classes in 2024, with memberships accounting for the majority of participation.
