Airbnb is entering the fitness and wellness services market with the rollout of its newly announced “Airbnb Services” feature, offering users the ability to book personal training, massage, and spa treatments directly through its app. This move signals a notable shift in how digital platforms may integrate fitness services into travel and local living.

As part of its broader 2025 Summer Release, Airbnb Services launches in 260 cities with 10 categories, including fitness-focused offerings such as yoga, HIIT, strength training, and personal training sessions. These services are accessible whether or not the user is staying at an Airbnb property.

Trainers listed on the platform include certified professionals and world champion athletes. Airbnb requires proof of licensing, certification, and professional experience. According to the company, service providers average 10 years of experience and must complete identity verification.

The addition of fitness services reflects a growing trend of consumers seeking convenience, personalization, and flexibility in how they access health and wellness experiences. By integrating workouts and recovery options like massage therapy into its booking platform, Airbnb positions itself as a broader lifestyle service. This may create new opportunities for fitness professionals to connect with clients.

Unlike traditional fitness service platforms, Airbnb offers instant booking and allows users to access accommodations, services, and experiences within one app. Trainers can list offerings ranging from single sessions to customized multi-day programs designed around a travel itinerary.

Prices vary widely, with some services starting under $50. This pricing structure may appeal to a broad consumer base, including business travelers looking to maintain consistent training routines and wellness-focused tourists seeking in-home recovery treatments.

For fitness operators, the launch presents both opportunity and potential competition. Independent trainers and wellness providers may benefit from increased visibility, while gyms and studios could face challenges if travelers opt for in-home sessions rather than attending local facilities.

This expansion follows a broader industry trend of hospitality platforms incorporating lifestyle services. As the travel and wellness categories continue to intersect, similar offerings may emerge from other companies.

The company has not yet disclosed details about revenue-sharing or whether subscription-based fitness models may be integrated. However, with Airbnb Experiences and Services now consolidated within a redesigned app, the fitness sector may see increased demand for high-quality, mobile-accessible wellness solutions.

Airbnb’s move comes at a time when digital fitness continues to adapt in a post-pandemic world. Users increasingly expect seamless access to health services whether at home, at work, or while traveling.
