Crunch Fitness will hold a nationwide fundraising event on Saturday, May 31, to support Augie’s Quest to Cure ALS, a nonprofit organization focused on finding a cure for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. The event will take place at participating Crunch Fitness, Crunch Select, and Crunch Signature locations across the U.S. from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. local time.
The event is open to both members and non-members. Attendees can take part in a 90-minute “Love Your Muscles” fitness class, which includes three 20-minute segments focused on strength, core, and mobility, followed by a 30-minute dance workout. Participants can choose from two versions of the class: one concluding with a Zumba session, the other with a “So You Think You Can’t Dance” session. The class costs $20, with all proceeds going directly to Augie’s Quest. Donation options will also be available for those who do not participate in the workout.
“At Crunch, we believe in making serious fitness fun, including engaging our community with awesome classes to support a larger cause. We're proud to have supported Augie's Quest over the years through direct donations and by helping to raise awareness and funds for ALS research in support of Augie Nieto's incredible mission,” said Chad Waetzig, Chief Marketing Officer at Crunch Fitness and a member of the Augie’s Quest Fitness Advisory Council. “We're honored to be uniting the Crunch community across the country through powerful programming that not only celebrates the 20-year legacy of Augie's Quest but also energizes our members and fitness enthusiasts to move their bodies for meaningful change.”
Augie’s Quest was founded by Augie Nieto, a fitness industry executive best known for his work with Life Fitness. After being diagnosed with ALS in 2005, he launched the organization to fund research for treatments and a potential cure. He passed away in 2023. Since its inception, the nonprofit has raised more than $200 million for ALS research.
