HYROX has announced an expanded partnership with NYU Langone Health, naming the top-ranked health system as its first-ever hospital lead partner. The collaboration is centered on a shared goal of promoting health, wellness, and fitness across the New York community, with NYU Langone Health HYROX New York scheduled to take place in 2026.
As part of the partnership, NYU Langone Health will offer exclusive entries into the 2026 HYROX New York event for participants who commit to fundraising in support of NYU Langone’s mission to advance health and wellness. The initiative is designed to connect physical activity, performance, and community impact, while encouraging broader participation in the sport of fitness racing.
HYROX Chief Growth Officer Douglas Gremmen said the partnership reflects strong alignment between the two organizations. He noted that NYU Langone Health shares HYROX’s global mission to promote health and fitness while creating positive impact through charitable initiatives, adding that the exclusive entry opportunity provides a motivating pathway for athletes preparing for the New York event.
HYROX is a global fitness racing brand built around a standardized competition format of eight one-kilometer runs interspersed with eight functional workout stations. The company was named to the TIME100 Most Influential Companies list in 2024 and now hosts 105 events across more than 30 countries. During the 2025–2026 season, HYROX expects to reach more than 1.5 million participants worldwide as part of its broader goal to impact 100 million lives through fitness.
NYU Langone Health HYROX New York 2026 will return to Pier 76 along the Hudson River. The event will run across two consecutive weekends, beginning Thursday, May 28 through Sunday, May 31, and continuing Thursday, June 4 through Sunday, June 7, for a total of eight days of competition. The extended format is expected to draw athletes, fitness enthusiasts, and first-time competitors from across the region.
As lead partner, NYU Langone Health will have an expanded on-site presence, including enhanced wellness and recovery services for competitors. These offerings will be supported by clinicians from NYU Langone’s Sports Performance Center, providing participants with access to sports medicine expertise and recovery resources throughout the event.
Joseph D. Zuckerman, Walter A.L. Thompson Professor of Orthopedic Surgery in the NYU Grossman School of Medicine and Chair of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at NYU Langone Health, said the partnership aligns with the organization’s broader responsibility to foster healthy communities. He emphasized the opportunity to bring specialists from NYU Langone Orthopedics and the Sports Performance Center directly to New Yorkers through a large-scale fitness event.
Together, HYROX and NYU Langone Health aim to encourage everyday athletes to pursue whole-person wellness while working toward personal performance goals. The partnership underscores a shared focus on inclusivity, prevention, and performance, reflecting HYROX’s founding principle as a sport designed to be accessible to participants of all backgrounds and fitness levels.
