Strength training has become the dominant focus for many gym members, with lifting areas often outpacing cardio zones in both usage and investment. This shift continues to influence how commercial facilities design their spaces and choose equipment. In response to the sustained rise in member demand for heavy lifting, Matrix Fitness has introduced the Magnum Plate Loaded Range, a collection of ten machines built for high performance in busy environments.

Matrix notes that the range was developed using feedback from lifters and facility operators, with an emphasis on durability, biomechanics and user adaptability. The company positions the new machines as tools that meet the training expectations of modern gym members while supporting operational efficiency for facilities.

“Strength training is one of the fastest-growing priorities for gym members today, with over two-thirds strength training regularly and more than a third identifying muscle growth as their primary goal,” said Matthew Pengelly, Managing Director, Matrix Fitness UK. “The new Magnum Plate-Loaded Range is our answer to this demand, a no-compromise strength solution that gives our partners a serious point of differentiation while helping their members train harder, smarter and safer.”

The line includes options for lower body, upper body and back training. The Belt Squat is built with oversized footplates and a centre belt attachment that shifts load to the hips and legs. Its integrated lockout mechanism supports smooth transitions and the unit is constructed to handle up to 720 kg.

Upper-body offerings include the Elevated Biceps Curl, which increases resistance through a front weight horn design and uses rotating handles for full range of motion. The High Row targets the rhomboids, traps and rear deltoids and features rotating grips, angled thigh pads and compact weight horn placement intended to improve flow in crowded strength areas.

For back training, the Incline Lever Row combines an incline frame with a dual-handle design and a mechanism that allows either fixed or floating movement. The Low Row offers horizontal pulling with dual-grip handles, vertical grips for single-arm work and streamlined weight horn placement.

Lower-body and posterior chain machines include the Kneeling Leg Curl, designed with a pivoting knee pad and ergonomic forearm supports, as well as the Reclining Leg Extension, which provides five recline angles to target different parts of the quadriceps. The Pendulum Squat uses a multi-angle foot platform and adjustable rear stops for safe progression under load.

The Standing Hip Thrust focuses on glute development with adjustable range-of-motion settings and a textured footplate. The T Bar Row offers dual-grip handles, oversized footplates and belt squat attachment points, with optional grip anchors for more training variety.

All machines are available in multiple frame colours and use a two coat powder finish intended to support long term durability. Band attachment points are integrated across the line for facilities that incorporate elastic resistance into programming.

“Every detail of the Magnum Plate-Loaded Range was crafted to support the success of our customers and their members,” Pengelly said. “Our partners can count on Matrix to deliver equipment that performs as hard as they do.”
