As wellness continues expanding beyond gyms, clinics, and hospitality, Fiji Airways is bringing the category into the aviation space with the launch of a new travel wellbeing initiative aimed at both passengers and crew.
The national carrier of Fiji has introduced “FlyWell,” a wellness-focused programme that combines recovery technology, sleep support, mental performance products, and lounge-based wellness experiences across select long-haul routes and airport facilities.
Available beginning June 1, 2026, the programme will initially be offered to Business Class passengers traveling between Nadi and Fiji Airways’ North American destinations, including San Francisco and Los Angeles. During the first two months, products and experiences will be complimentary before transitioning into a retail offering onboard.
According to Fiji Airways, the initiative was developed in partnership with several wellness and recovery brands and reflects a growing focus on passenger wellbeing during long-haul travel.
“The Fiji Airways FlyWell programme reflects our ongoing commitment to innovation and care, and marks an important step towards our mission of being the World’s Happiest Airline,” said Fiji Airways Managing Director and CEO Paul Scurrah.
The onboard offering includes Firefly Recovery wearable devices designed to promote circulation and reduce fatigue during flights, along with Ra Optics Sunset Lenses intended to support circadian rhythm regulation and encourage better sleep while traveling. Passengers will also have access to Magic Mind wellness shots, including a sleep-focused formula intended to support in-flight rest and another designed to promote calm focus and sustained energy.
The programme extends beyond the cabin experience into Fiji Airways’ Premier Lounge at Nadi International Airport, where travelers can access red light therapy sessions in partnership with Vital Red Light. The airline says the therapy is intended to support recovery, energy production, and sleep quality.
Fiji Airways has also installed Aires EMF protection technology throughout both its passenger and crew lounges, positioning the spaces as some of the first EMF-focused airport lounge environments globally. The technology is intended to help mitigate exposure to electromagnetic radiation from devices such as phones, laptops, and WiFi systems.
The initiative also includes a focus on employee wellbeing, with wellness technologies being integrated into pilot and cabin crew areas at Nadi International Airport.
Helping lead the programme is Fiji Airways’ newly appointed wellness ambassador, Da Rulk, who has worked with professional athletes and celebrities in the performance and recovery space.
“Travel places unique demands on the body, from disrupted sleep to fatigue and constant environmental stress,” said Da Rulk. “The Fiji Airways FlyWell programme is about giving people practical, science-backed tools that work with the body, not against it.”
The launch reflects a broader shift happening across both travel and wellness industries as airlines increasingly look for ways to differentiate premium experiences beyond traditional hospitality perks. Rather than focusing solely on luxury, programmes like FlyWell position recovery, sleep quality, and performance optimization as part of the travel experience itself.
