The Health & Fitness Association has announced a leadership transition in a letter distributed to members, confirming that President and CEO Liz Clark will step down as the organization enters its next chapter.

According to the communication, Clark and the Board have agreed to the transition, with Clark remaining employed through the end of her contract in July to support continuity.

Clark has led HFA for the past five years, a period that began during the COVID-19 pandemic. During her tenure, the organization expanded its advocacy efforts, strengthened member support, and helped guide the industry through recovery into a more stable operating environment.

To assist during the transition, Greta Wagner will work alongside the Board and leadership team while a formal search for the next CEO is conducted.

HFA noted in the letter that its advocacy work and core priorities remain unchanged, with the organization continuing to focus on supporting fitness operators and advancing industry interests.
