Padel Studios Coventry has launched a hybrid concept that reflects a growing trend in the UK fitness market, where operators are pairing social sport with boutique wellness services. The 14,000 square foot facility combines indoor Padel with Reformer Pilates, recovery services and a community-focused café, positioning the site as a broader wellness destination.
Founded by childhood friends and former EY auditors Preet Bains and Aman Choudhury, the facility opened with three courts and a plan to extend the model beyond sport participation alone. Bains said, “When we looked at the space, we realised that building three courts instead of four gave us an opportunity to do something different.” He added, “Reformer Pilates was already booming in Coventry and worldwide, and there was clear synergy between the two disciplines.”
The founders designed the offering to diversify usage and strengthen commercial sustainability. “We knew Padel would be hugely popular,” said Bains. “But adding a dedicated Pilates studio allowed us to broaden our audience, drive daytime use of the site and turn the space into a true wellness hub.”
The concept mirrors a trend seen in Dubai, where Padel facilities are integrating Pilates. To support the project, Bains and Choudhury partnered with Ramsay Fitness, a local operator with an established Pilates business. Jack Ramsay, Director at Ramsay Fitness, said, “We loved the concept immediately. We already had a thriving gym and Pilates business, but the chance to create a dedicated Reformer Pilates studio inside a Padel facility was completely unique.”
The studio features eight Balanced Body Allegro 2 Reformers, with Ramsay Fitness managing its own operation and booking system. The setup has encouraged cross participation, drawing both Padel players seeking mobility and strength work, and Pilates clients exploring the sport next door.
“Padel and Pilates might look very different, but they complement one another beautifully,” said Bains. “Pilates develops the mobility, strength and injury prevention that Padel players need, while Padel brings a social and competitive element that excites people and keeps them coming back.”
Members have responded positively to the combined model, supported by additional services such as physiotherapy, sports massage and nutritional guidance through the site’s Recovery Room. A Bistro Café reinforces the facility’s community focus and extends visit length.
With strong early demand, the founders are already exploring expansion and expect the Padel and Pilates combination to anchor any future locations. Balanced Body views the installation as a notable example of two growing sectors coming together. Katherine Ryzhova, Business Development Manager, Balanced Body UK, said, “By bringing Pilates and Padel together, they are not only maximising their space but creating a true destination for health and wellbeing.”
