Pilates-inspired training continues to gain momentum across the fitness industry, with operators increasingly blending low impact movement, strength work, and mind body elements into their programming. Pure Barre is leaning further into that trend with the national return of Reform, a class format that combines the brand's traditional barre methodology with Pilates-inspired movement patterns.
The class, which returns after previous demand from members, is being reintroduced across participating studios nationwide. Pure Barre says the format is designed to build strength, stability, coordination, and body awareness while maintaining the low impact approach the brand is known for.
Pure Barre Reform is structured as a 50 minute full body workout that incorporates sliders and the brand's resistance tube system to create continuous tension throughout movements. The format focuses on larger ranges of motion under resistance, challenging balance and muscular endurance while emphasizing control and precision.
The reintroduction comes as consumer preferences continue shifting toward workouts that offer more than calorie burn or strength gains alone. Many members are increasingly seeking formats that combine physical results with movement quality and functional benefits.
“Consumers are looking for workouts that do more than build strength. They want to move in a way that helps them feel balanced, controlled and more connected to their bodies,” said Katelyn DiGiorgio, President of Pure Barre. “Pure Barre Reform brings that experience to life through Pilates-inspired resistance training rooted in the precision, energy and low impact approach our members know and love. We are excited to reintroduce this fan favorite class as a meaningful way for longtime members and newcomers alike to build confidence, deepen their practice and continue challenging themselves at the barre.”
The return of Reform also reflects a broader shift occurring across boutique fitness, where operators continue experimenting with hybrid training experiences that combine established modalities. Strength training, Pilates, barre, and functional movement have increasingly overlapped as brands look to create differentiated offerings and meet evolving consumer demand.
Pure Barre noted that Reform is designed for a wide range of fitness levels and includes modifications and progressions, allowing participants to adjust resistance and intensity based on individual needs.
To support the launch, participating locations will host National Reform Day on July 18, featuring classes and in studio community events intended to introduce the format to both existing members and prospective clients.
For operators, the move highlights another example of how established boutique brands are continuing to refresh class offerings rather than relying solely on expansion for growth. As consumer interest in intentional movement and Pilates-adjacent experiences remains strong, class innovation may increasingly become a competitive lever for member engagement and retention.
